2000 Dodge Dakota
The largest compact truck with six-passenger capacity is out in the market today
to overtake its competitors. Its power comes from a 4.7-liter V8 engine with specially-
designed automatic transmission producing 235 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque
at 3200 rpm. Four-speed automatic transmission with dual ratio second gear is
the new engine feature for this year.
The dual second gear ratio improves the vehicle's performance with increased
speed range. It also features driver-adaptive shifting software that enhances
the shift pattern. The introduction of the four-door Quad cab made it bigger not
just on the outside but also on the inside.
It features four- forward swinging doors and roomier backseat unlike other cabs.
It has the same overall length as the Dakota Club cab but its cargo space is one
foot shorter. Unlike other models, its cargo box can be used for items that are
not normally thrown in the back compartment such as garbage, hay bales, wet or
dirty sports equipment and many others.
